Strength in Community

Steady Hands to Help Build A Life Filled With Gratitude and Sobriety

Mission

Our Purpose

Steady Hands Foundation exists to restore hope, dignity, and opportunity for individuals overcoming addiction and those rebuilding their lives after incarceration. We do this by removing the barriers that keep people trapped in cycles of relapse, poverty, and isolation offering paid transitional employment, short-term housing support, and targeted financial assistance during early recovery. Our mission is rooted in the belief that healing is possible when individuals are given the structure, tools, and support to stand on their own. Through compassionate guidance and practical resources, we empower people not just to survive but to thrive.

Vision

Our Vision

We envision a world where no one in recovery is left behind where every individual, regardless of their past, has access to safe housing, meaningful work, and the chance to reclaim their future. A world where second chances aren’t just offered, but embraced. Where recovery is measured not just by sobriety, but by restored relationships, personal growth, financial independence, and self-worth. Steady Hands Foundation is building that world one person, one job, one act of resilience at a time.

Intended Scope of Services

Steady Hands Foundation aims to provide comprehensive support for individuals in recovery, those currently in treatment, displaced individuals, and people reentering society after incarceration. Our services include financial aid, housing assistance, medical and mental health access, job readiness support, and community engagement to foster stability and long-term independence.

Coming Out of Prison

When someone is released from incarceration, we provide urgent and comprehensive support to help them reintegrate successfully.

Our team offers 24/7 call support for immediate needs, including housing, probation coordination, and urgent resource referrals.

Mental health services focus on post-incarceration trauma, connecting individuals with therapy, psychiatric care, and community-based support.

Probation support ensures individuals can meet requirements through transportation assistance, check-in reminders, and help with court reporting or progress letters.

Housing support is fast-tracked to place individuals in approved sober homes or transitional housing, with financial aid available if needed.

To promote self-sufficiency, job placement services include resume and job readiness coaching, referrals to record-friendly employers or day labor opportunities, and access to trade training or certification programs.

Displaced Individuals

For those who are unhoused or at high risk, Steady Hands Foundation provides urgent, hands-on support to create a pathway to safety and stability.

Immediate services include transportation to detox or treatment programs and priority placement for those most vulnerable, such as individuals at risk of overdose or pregnant clients.

We offer wraparound services like hygiene supplies, food bags, socks, water, bus passes, and assistance replacing IDs or accessing mail.

Mental health pathways are a critical focus, providing on-the-street assessments, crisis stabilization referrals, and connections to clinics that offer walk-in therapy.

Housing coordination is also a priority, from rapid rehousing applications to transitional living options and shelter bed placement.

Currently in Treatment

While individuals are in active treatment, we focus on creating a strong foundation for long-term recovery.

Aftercare planning begins early, ensuring that housing, employment, and outpatient therapy are arranged before discharge.

Relational support is a core component, helping families reconnect through therapy, mediation with children or parents, and guidance on rebuilding trust that may have been lost.

Financial stress can often disrupt treatment, so we assist with bills by helping with rent and utilities, creating payment plans for insurance, and negotiating medical or court-related expenses.

Currently In Sober Living

Steady Hands Foundation supports individuals maintaining their recovery by helping them achieve stability and independence.

We provide assistance with rent and emergency back-pay to prevent eviction, along with guidance on budgeting for long-term self-sufficiency.

Our team connects residents with job resources, including interview preparation, transportation support, and ongoing accountability to secure employment.

We ensure access to essential medical care through primary care follow-ups and psychiatric medication refills, while also covering basic needs such as food, clothing, hygiene kits, and Wi-Fi or laundry facilities.

To build lasting stability, we encourage community engagement through volunteer work, peer recovery meetings, and leadership opportunities within sober living environments.
